Audra Fordin has been selected to represent Girl Scouts as A Girl Scout Great!

Girl Scout Greats profile influential individuals who are making a difference in their community and the world.

This yearlong campaign highlights the accomplishments of current Girl Scouts and distinguished alumnae. As an inspirational Girl Scout, Audra Fordin has been selected to be included in the Girl Scout Greats campaign.

Back in March 2012, Nassau Council of Girl Scouts bestowed honors upon local volunteers during an Adult Recognition Awards Ceremony. The Girl Scouts thanked a core group of dedicated volunteers – those that truly comprise the backbone of the organization.

Among the honorees was Audra Fordin. Audra has been a troop leader for the past 6 years and the past 2 years has runprograms with the scouts educating them about auto repair, incorporating the United States Department of Educational STEM curriculam and environmental responsibility with her recycled tires to designer belt program.

“With all the recognition I get for my business activities, I have to say that this one makes me so proud. This one gives me more recognition from my children.” said Audra.

Women Auto Know is a not for profit, founded in 2009 by Audra Fordin, CEO/President of Great Bear Auto Repair and Auto Body in Flushing, New York. Audra is a fourth generation owner of the Great Bear franchise. Her great grandfather founded Great Bear in 1933, and took its recognition to one of the country’s leading automotive franchises in the country. Today, Audra is a regional, as well as a nationally recognized advocate for empowering women, education for the automotive repair industry, and supporting veterans and persons with disabilities.
